Arpoon Checksum calculates different checksums (Checksum, Hash, Message Digests). This allows you to check the validity of a file (e. g. after a download), to sign (fingerprint) the documents you want to distribute, to check if a file has been modified on the hard disk... More specifically, you can use this tool to: * Identify/mark any file uniquely, the checksum acting as a fingerprint.
* Monitor/observe if a file has been modified by comparing its current footprint with a previously saved reference * Search/locate duplicate files on any type of recording media (hard disk, DVD, CD, USB key...) * Check the authenticity, reliability of a file you have downloaded or received (e.g. by email) by calculating and comparing it with a reference from a trusted source.
Feature: * Drag and drop files or directories from the explorer * Calculation of sums within a tree structure in a recursive way (option) * The list of results can be sorted at will * Links to a file can be resolved (option) * The different checksums can be displayed in hexadecimal mode or as a MIME compatible base64 code * Detailed information available for each file: creation date, size, attributes .... * The list of results can be exported in CSV or HTML format to the clipboard or in a file * The progress of long-term calculation operations is displayed * It is possible to interrupt long-term calculation operations: multiple or very large files * Statistics on the calculations performed (average file size, flow rates...) are collected automatically etc...
