Come home safe from your New Year’s Eve party with these VTC apps.Publié le
New Year’s Eve is coming soon! You may have chosen to party, eat a lot and maybe even drink a little. If this is the case, you know it is not safe to take the car back unless you have a SAM, a person who is fit to drive. If no one is able to drive you home and you absolutely have to go home, remember that there are VTC services that can get you home safely and that they are easily reachable via applications for Android and iOS.
It is certainly the most famous VTC service: Uber. It is very easy, with the mobile application of the same name, to order a shared car to go from one place to another. It is possible to see which cars are available in the vicinity, to have an estimate of the waiting time as well as to see the price of the race. In addition, the Uber service is present in more than 500 cities worldwide.
Uber has diversified its activities so that it is possible to unlock a bicycle or scooter in some cities from this application. But will you have the courage to ride home on a scooter on January 1st?
Kapten (ex Private Driver)
Previously known as a Private Chauffeur, Kapten is a great alternative for booking your New Year’s Eve transport in advance. Indeed, the application allows you to create a reservation up to one month in advance. Available in several French cities including Paris, Lyon, Nice and Cannes, Kapten has the advantage of offering a fixed price as soon as you order with an interesting loyalty program.
Once the route has been ordered, you can follow your driver’s movements and are warned as soon as he approaches. Once the race is over, it is possible to leave a tip if you were satisfied with the service (or if you feel like being generous).
Marcel offers a service very similar to that of Kapten but he puts forward drivers who are environmentally friendly with 100% electric vehicles and carbon neutral routes. Here too, Marcel makes it possible to book trips in advance and immediately know the price of the race. In addition, the application offers one free ride for every 100km travelled.
Marcel offers several ranges of cars, allows you to pay directly from the application and provides users with a customer service available 24 hours a day.
Heetch presents itself as a VTC service offering races at minimum prices. Available in Paris, Lille, Nice, Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Nantes, Marseille and Strasbourg, Heetch drivers can be reached at any time and the price is fixed at the time of order to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Unlike many competitors, Heetch allows you to pay with your credit card but also in cash, ideal if you have to pay several people to book a race. In short, Heetch is a handy service to keep on hand if you’re a bit tight financially.
There are of course many other services (we recently published an article on VTC apps for women only), some of which are exclusive to certain cities. Feel free to take the lead and book a ride home without having to worry about public transport and other potential strikes at the moment.
