Discover CorelDRAW Graphics Suite for graphic design

Published on

If you are interested in digital painting, you must know CorelDraw Graphics Suite. If this is not the case, you will be offered a quick remedial course. It is a versatile suite with a wide range of tools for drawing, photo processing and even website design.

What are the different software packages in the suite?

This suite is simply one of the most complete on the market. There are 7 software programs but also tens of thousands of media contents such as templates, photos and cliparts. Here are the software available:

CorelDRAW 2017 is a vector illustration and layout software, a perfect alternative to Adobe Illustrator. For image editing, users of the suite can rely on Corel® PHOTO-PAINT® 2017. These two previous tools are complemented by Corel® PowerTRACE™ which is a Bitmap vectorization software.

A font manager is also present. This is Corel Font Manager™ 2017, which allows you to use fonts without installing them on your machine.

The suite also includes an intuitive Corel® CAPTURE™ screenshot utility that has several capture modes accessible via keyboard shortcuts.

With its Website Creator tool, Corel makes website design accessible. Users can add any type of multimedia content or integrate applications to their site from this software. Note that Corel Website Creator supports HTML 5.

Finally, to better organize and manage the content used on a daily basis, the publisher has developed Corel CONNECT™, an advanced search tool to synchronize all its workspaces.

New features that simplify graphic design

In its new version, the suite offers a tool called LiveSketch. The latter uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to convert sketches into real vector curves from a touch device.

Moreover, the user now benefits from a real interface dedicated to touch tablets, which facilitates quick adjustments with a stylus that provides new functionalities. Tablet drawing is therefore more natural and the user experience is greatly improved. You will also find a new feature in the software that makes it easier to customize node shapes.

The latest version of Corel’s Graphics Suite is fully compatible with Microsoft Surface Dial and requires at least Windows 7 and 2 GB of RAM. For an optimal user experience, however, plan a more powerful machine. In the meantime, you can test the software for 15 days for free by getting the trial version.
