LogMeIn (LastPass) was acquired by Private Equity FirmPublié le
LogMeIn announced yesterday that it has been acquired by Private Equity Firm for approximately $4.3 billion. LogMeIn has many software products including the LastPass password manager, acquired in 2015. What will change for users?
LogMeIn is a company with an interesting portfolio of services. For example, it has LogMeIn software that provides remote access to a computer and is available for individuals and professionals. More recently, the company acquired LastPass, one of the most widely used password managers on the market.
LogMeIn has begun to reorganize its software offering with a clear desire to focus on the Enterprise world. LastPass, on the other hand, continues to be offered for all users and on many operating systems.
The transaction between LogMeIn and Private Equity Firm is expected to close in 2020. The objective for Private Equity Firm is to accelerate the growth and investment of the various products offered by LogMeIn.
Users of LogMeIn software should not see any changes at first. However, it is advisable to remain attentive to the company’s announcements in the coming months. People who would be disappointed with the development of LastPass will still be able to turn to other solutions; alternative password managers are relatively numerous.
