EvilQuest is a ransomware that targets computers under macOS. This ransomware is typically distributed via P2P download platforms in locked versions of popular pirated apps. According to security researchers from MalwarBytes and K7 Lab, this malware can be found in pirated versions of Litte Snitch, Ableton Live or Mixed In Key 8 to name but a few.
The software is hidden in the application installer. Once installed and activated, he begins to encrypt the victim’s data and asks him to pay a ransom to get a decryption key. Fortunately, there is already a decryption tool. It was developed by SentinelLabs. It comes in the form of a simple command prompt in which you have to enter the directory where the restored files will be exported.
EvliQuest Decryptor Tool is of course free.
